HOW GROUPONS WORK IN MY PRACTICE
I welcome Groupons in my practice and I allow 1 voucher purchased every 90 days per person. The Groupon venue is a good way to introduce and market a therapist's practice to a large population, of which I appreciate.
I schedule Groupons on a "first come - first serve" basis and the Massage venue for Groupon is a popular one which means Groupon customers may have to wait sometimes up to 3-4 weeks in order to book a session. Also be aware that the Groupons have either a 90 day or 120 day expiration on the promotional code. It is best to schedule your Groupon as soon as possible though it may be further out than you anticipated. If you wait and the expiration date gets closer I may not be able to book your appointment prior to you losing the promotional value of your Groupon.
I am a sole practitioner (work alone) and can not provide couples massage sessions at the same time. I can book such sessions back to back.
I am able to be more flexible within my schedule for "non-groupon" clients (as a therapist is not able to financially survive only on groupon appointments).
Hours of Operation for Groupon Appointments:
Tuesdays through Fridays, 12pm to 7pm
Saturdays, 12pm to 5pm
The Groupons I offer are for Swedish Massage sessions only and I do not include deep tissue work within these appointments.
Swedish massage helps to improve circulation and will alleviate some muscle tension with the strokes used during the session. However this type of massage is not designed to target specific muscle groups as a therapist would within a deep tissue massage session.
I also do not allow "upgrades" with these Groupons, however you may add on extra services which are listed under the Services & Rates file within the Mix & Match listing. If you wish to include an add on with your Groupon session, please inform me when booking your appointment.
I do not travel to Groupon customers homes or offices for appointments.
When making the initial contact to schedule your Groupon appointment, please identify yourself (full name) and that you are using a Groupon . Please specify which Groupon you will be using at this time (60 min or 75 min). By not providing this information you will slow the process down.
Once a Groupon session has been booked, I will send out a confirmation email prior to the actual appointment date. Therefore please provide active email addresses and be on the look out for this confirmation email. I usually send out confirmation emails at the beginning of the week the appointment is scheduled and sometimes up to 2 weeks (or more) prior to the appointment.
I provide directions to my office location within the confirmation email, therefore it is very important that you read the ENTIRE email. If you have further questions please contact me via text or email prior to the day of your appointment and not on the day of your appointment. I do not pick up my cell phone during the day since I am usually with a client or preparing for your appointment.
You may need to check in the spam or trash folders if you do not find the confirmation email within the primary folder. I also send you a confirmation text message (as long as I have your cell number) alerting you that I have emailed you confirmation of your appointment. I do not send out "reminders" therefore please mark your calendars with the booking once one has been scheduled.
I do not make phone calls out since I am a sole practitioner and do not have the time during the day to talk on the phone or make call backs. Therefore please either text or email me. When leaving a voicemail message please provide a cell number since my response will be by text. If you do not have a cell phone or texting ability please provide an active email address for me to respond to your request.
It is best to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to fill out a client intake form.
Currently I do not have an on-line scheduler. Some Groupon customers may find this frustrating however it helps me to eliminate people looking for illegal and inappropriate practices.
Please be aware that the various providers on Groupon do not receive the full fee you paid but only a portion of it. Tips are truly appreciated since the services offered are provided at a greatly reduced rate. A tip also helps to offset the cost of running a business and are reported as income on yearly income tax returns.
I DO NOT ACCEPT GROUPONS FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. If you are experiencing a flare up of a chronic condition or a new acute condition, DO NOT PURCHASE A GROUPON! Groupon sale volumes are very high & I am not able to get you in quickly. And the Groupons are for a Swedish Massage not a Deep Tissue massage.
CANCELLATION POLICY: "Life happens", I understand. If you need to cancel your appointment, I require a 24 hour cancellation notice. In other words, if your appointment is scheduled on a Friday at 1pm then you have up to 1pm on Thursday (the day before your scheduled appt.) to cancel this appointment without losing the value of your Groupon voucher.
*** Canceling within the "24 hour cancellation notice" period is acceptable but you will be charged a $25.00 transaction fee at the time of rescheduling your canceled appointment.
NO SHOWS: I will wait for you up to 15 minutes into your scheduled appointment. If you do not show, your Groupon Voucher will be redeemed and your appointment will be canceled. You will not be able to reschedule this "NO SHOW" appointment.
Being courteous is GREATLY appreciated and is a reflection of a person's character.
SNOWSTORMS/WINTER WEATHER: I CANCEL APPOINTMENTS ON DAYS OF INCLEMENT WEATHER FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY. RESCHEDULING WILL BE DONE WITHIN 30 TO 60 DAYS.
If it is not snowing or freezing rain or sleeting where you are but it is where I am located, I will cancel the appointment. Why would you want to relax with a massage only to become stressed driving home after your session?
EXPIRATION OF THE GROUPON'S PROMOTIONAL VALUE:
When the promotional value (what you paid for the Groupon) of the Groupon expires, the Groupon becomes a coupon and you can apply the promotional value towards the full fee for the same service or another type of service at 60 or 75 minutes (depending on the Groupon you purchased) or longer (excluding: reiki, craniosacral, chair massage, and geriatric massage).
